Home family day care
Supervised family day care is provided for children under school age. In family day care the groups consist of four children at the most, all of them under school age. A child attending school or preschool may be taken in as a fifth child. Group family day care may be organised for 8 - 12 children tended by two to three adults.
In municipal family day care, the daycare nurse employed by the municipality looks after a group of children in her/his home. In special cases where no other alternatives are feasible, family day care may also be arranged in a child's home.
Parents interested in any type of family day care may turn to the Managers of the daycare centres for guidance.
Private home family day care
Private day care is also approved and supervised by the municipal authorities. If you wish to take your child to a private day care or supervised family day care, you can apply for a subcidy from Jyväskylä City Council. Please contact by telephone first to make an appointment, tel. +35814 266 3100.
