The city district round, “Kyläkierros”, continues

The city district round (Kyläkierros) of Jyväskylä means a serie of events in the residential areas around the city. Residents, representatives and employees of the city are all welcome to take part in the discussion about topics of interest in their neighbourhood.

These topics are first composed in small groups. The results are run through together, after which it is time to consider, which topics will be taken forward into action – and how and by whom it will be done.

Events on residential areas enhance dialogue

The purpose of collaboration with districts is to enhance dialogue between the local actors and the administration of the city. It also creates opportunities of participation for the resi-dents in their own neighbourhood.

“Kyläkierros” is organized together with local associations, the board of rural affairs and the board of future affairs of City of Jyväskylä. In 2010, six events will take place. The round around city districts of Jyväskylä reaches the district of Nyrölä on January 28th and the district of Saarenmaa-Vertaala on February 18th.
