The annual Martti Ahtisaari lecture on 1 December 2009 in Jyväskylä

The tenth annual Martti Ahtisaari lecture is held on Tuesday 1 December 2009 at 6 pm. in the Great Hall of University of Jyväskylä. The key note speaker of the lecture is Mr. Jorma Ollila, Chairman of Nokia and Royal Dutch Shell. The lecture is open for public.The lecture room will be filled in order of guests' arrival. Parking space available at the sports field nearby at 5 p.m ahead.

In February 2000, representatives of the Central Finland National Defence Association, the City of Jyväskylä, the University of Jyväskylä, and the Keskisuomalainen newspaper obtained permission from President Ahtisaari to arrange an annual lecture under his name.

Speakers have included both Finnish and international statesmen: Minister Max Jakobson, Councilor of State Harri Holkeri, the Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson, the President of the Republic of Estonia Arnold Rüütel, the Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen, the President of the Republic of Macedonia Branko Crvenkovski, the President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen, President Martti Ahtisaari and the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül.
