Culture bringing joy and inspiration to everyday life

The City of Jyväskylä’s Cultural Services creates opportunities to experience culture by organizing various events as well by encouraging citizens of Jyväskylä to enjoy culture independently. Older people as well as children are important target groups: Culture Shed and Children’s Festival create experiences of joy to kindergartens, schools and families, whereas the Art Pharmacy sees to the needs of older people by providing regular dosages of art in various forms to care facilities and nursing homes. Annually provided grant support creates opportunities for cultural activity, which encourages people to take part in communal activity improving well-being as well as enriching the city’s cultural offerings. Additionally, a voluntary culture coach is available for those who wish to familiarize themselves with the shows and cultural attractions in more detail.
