Services
The library offers material collections, network material, information services, customer workstations and library premises for the use of its customers.
Customers can make reservations and suggestions for the material. Material can also be ordered from other libraries. Some of these orders are subject to a fee.
The library can also be visited on the Internet: a customer can renew his/her loans, make reservations and cancel them through the library’s database. To visit the library on the Internet, customer needs a pin number, which is available from the library. Because of data protection reasons, pin number can only be obtained by visiting the library personally.

Interlibrary Lending Service
Material that cannot be borrowed from the City of Jyväskylä, University or Polytechnic libraries can be ordered by using the interlibrary lending service. Books, sheet music, microcopies, recordings, videos, DVD’s, CD-ROM’s and paper copies can be ordered from interlibrary lending service.
Customers can leave an interlibrary lending request at the Main Library or at the information desk of any local library. The library charges fees set by the lending library in addition to the reservation fee for each loan or copy.
Once the ordered material is available at the library, the customer is notified of it by e-mail, letter, text message or phone. The ordered material can then be collected from the Lending Office of the Main Library. The fees set by the library of origin are payable on collection of the loan.
