The Jyväskylä City Theatre is designed by the world famous architect Alvar Aalto. The theatre building was completed in 1982. The house features two stages: a main stage with 540 seats and a small stage with 93 seats. Annually the City Theatre produces 260 performances including four premieres on the main stage and one or two premieres on the small stage. The number of personnel is 65.

Our aim is to offer as versatile theatre experiences as possible, and therefore we produce many co-productions as well as visiting performances representing the top notch Finnish theatre.

ANSA – A musical about a woman who is too good for this world

The Ansa musical portrays modern life from a woman’s perspective. The songs cover a wide range of genres, from schlager to tango and jazz.

We recommend buying tickets from the ticket office at the city theatre (address: Vapaudenkatu 36) as this enables to buy the tickets without a service fee.

You can reach us by phone at +358 14 266 0110. The ticket office is open from Monday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m. (on nights of performance until 7 p.m.), Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m.

Tickets can also be purchased from the internet at when a service fee will be added to the price of the ticket.
