Kangas gate building celebrates its 100th anniversary

In 1916, stables for 30 horses were built at the Kangas factory and the old wooden bridge for transporting hay reminds us of those times. Later, the red brick building has served as a garage, fire station and main gate. Currently, the building is home to office, meeting and storage facilities.

Its 100th anniversary will be celebrated at a two-day event at the end of November:

Thursday, 24 November

  • An exhibition of Kangas photographs displayed this autumn, presentation of art from the Kangas area by regional artist and art coordinator Kirsi Pitkänen and artist Anna Ruth, and presentation of 3D printing. There will be coffee and mulled wine for guests.

Saturday, 26 November

  • Students of the Humak University of Applied Sciences host a family day with handicrafts, games and puppet shows.
