What does percent for art mean?

The "percent for art" operating model is applied in developing the Kangas area. This union between art and construction means that: 0.5%–2% of construction costs is allocated to public art.

Jyväskylä has been acquiring art in connection with construction projects for years, but percent for art provides a fresh, new perspective alongside the more conventional model of purchasing works of art. The percent for art culture in Kangas has spread the understanding of the significance of art even more extensively throughout the city and given the phenomenon a unique face.
