Jyväskylä took part in the International Festival of Arts for Children and Young People in Yaroslavl on 1–5 December 2015

The Russian Ministry for Culture had invited residents of Jyväskylä to take part in the International Festival of Arts for Children and Young People held in Yaroslavl at the beginning of December.

Teachers from Yaroslavl Art School 4, accompanied by artist Pertti Karjalainen, had set up a varied and interesting programme for the festival.

During the week, children and young people gained unforgettable experiences in Russian arts and teaching methods. Pertti Karjalainen delivered a lecture at the art education conference. The best part about the week was the possibility to acquire knowledge of the Russian language, art and culture. The Finnish participants particularly enjoyed the workshop at the zoo, meeting all the friendly people, the incredible music and dance concerts and the magnificent historical buildings.

Yaroslavl and Jyväskylä have been twin cities since 1966.
