Christmas season opening is celebrated on 20-22 of November 2015

Christmas season opening is celebrated on 20-22 of November 2015. Joulukylä Jyväskylä (Christmas Village Jyväskylä) is inviting people to the city centre to celebrate the opening of the Christmas season in Jyväskylä. Opening programme offers a number of different events.

During the weekend some 30 street vendors will be offering seasonal products at the pedestrian street. Products available include canned goods, baked goods, cheeses, various meats, fruit preserves and candy. Additionally, a wide selection of ideal Christmas gifts, such as accessories, furnishings and handicraft are available for purchase. Notice also the free entrance to the Jyväskylä Art Museum Fri-Sun at 11-18

Friday 20.11.2015

Craft Museum of Finland (Kauppakatu 25), free entrance
- the traditional Christmas themed exhibition “Kirjat Elävät” (books alive) organized by Suomen Nukketaiteilijat ry (Doll Artists Association of Finland)
- at 12–17 Joulukylä–Jyväskylä pin workshop
- at 14-17 wood planing performances

Saturday 21.11.
at 10-13 Jyväskylä parish’s market, e.g. handicraft and baked goods for purchase at the Old Vicarage (Vapaudenkatu 26)

Sunday 22.11.

at 17 Opening ceremony is at the pedestrian street at the Compass in front of the Sokos department store, music performances by Kolmekuutoset, Ruamjai, Rautatieläisten Mieskuoro and Hellpillies
and Father Christmas has promised to show up.
at 18 Fireworks display
