Champions' Park established in Jyväskylä in honour of rally stars - Give your vote and be a part of the park opening

Photo: AKK Sports Ltd. / Mika MäkiChampions’ Park is a joint venture between Neste Oil Rally Finland organizer AKK Sports Ltd. and the City of Jyväskylä. It is established to honour Finnish rally stars, which have also gained success in traditional Jyväskylä based rally.

Eleven trees will be planted in Champions’ Park in Lutakko area, which is located close to Rally HQ Jyväskylä Paviljonki. Each tree will be allocated to a Finnish rally hero of the past and the choice of which tree represents which driver will be made by a public poll on Visit Jyväskylä’s website. The scheme is also intended to focus attention on environmental well-being.

The planting ceremony is open to the public and takes place on Thursday 30.7. at 16:00. Rally legends or their representatives will be present to each plant his own tree on the site. Rarely have so many rally heroes from different eras been present at the same time, so this is quite a unique opportunity.
