Jyväskylä Festival 8.-13.7.2014

Jyväskylä Festival 2014 offers interesting free program for five days. The festival offers various performances of nonverbal theater. This year the main program consists of 37 performances with 163 performers.

Performers come from ten different countries: Finland, Estonia, New Zealand, France, Nepal, Portugal, United States of America, Sweden, Nigeria and Great Britain.

Street program “What are they doing?!” brings colorful performances to city center during the whole festival. At Kompassi (Compass) the main performers of the festival are also inter-viewed.

Jyväskylä Festival is in cooperation with London International Mime Festival which is the oldest festival in the field. More than hundred masters of nonverbal theater has been brought to Finland by Jyväskylä Festival over the years. In addition Jyväskylä Festival is in cooperation also with Spanish event Fira de Teatre Tàrrega. Children’s Summer program, which lasts for five days, is vast and offers affordable tickets when compared to other Finnish festivals.

Jyväskylä Festival is the oldest city festival in Finland, organized this year for the 59th time. Over hundred volunteers help with various tasks. They work at ticket sale, as hosts, security officers, roadies, drivers, personnel in the Tent etc.
