Jyväskylä’s pedestrian street will be transformed into a Christmas Street on Friday the 13th December

On the coming weekend there is an opportunity to sniff, taste, hear and experience Christmas atmosphere on Jyväskylä’s pedestrian street as the street will be transformed into a Christmas Street on Friday the 13th December.

The Street will be enliven with beautifully decorated market cabins, where there are available a variety of Christmas delicacies and surprises for Father Christmas’s sack. Sellers arrive to the Christmas Street event from all over Finland and from Europe.

During Christmas shopping you have the possibility to scratch the woolly sheep transported from the Vehkomäki Farm in Keuruu. At the same time you will be able to calm down at the Christmas manger constructed by the Jyväskylä parish.

Christmas Street event is organized already over several years at the city center. This year the event will be organized from the 13th to the 22nd December. The Market cabins are open on weekdays and on Saturdays at 10-18 o’clock, and on Sundays at 12-18 o’clock. The Event is organized by the Association of Jyväskylä’s Lively City Center (Jyväskylän Elävä Kaupunkikeskusta ry).
