Rental of cultivation areas

The City of Jyväskylä owns approximately 500 cultivation patches located in seven different areas. The usual size of a cultivation patch is about 100 square meters. Most of the patches are intended for summer cultivation; the city arranges for the plowing and harrowing of these patches in the autumn and spring, respectively. Long-term cultivation patches provide the opportunity for growing perennial plants. All cultivation patch renters are entitled to continue renting their current patch unless the area is deployed to other purposes.
