European Union and Jyväskylä

Jyväskylä has an active cooperation with other European cities and regions. The Jyväskylä region holds special expertise in information-, papermaking-, environmental and energy technology. Culture and education, as well urban policy issues, also form a fruitful ground for cooperation. EU programs in these fields have special importance to Jyväskylä. International projects are one way of developing innovative ideas and of creating better practices.

In Brussels Central Finland and five other Finnish regions are represented by the West Finland Alliance* (WFA).
