During the spring season the exchange covers activities in the City of Leeuwarden (NL), Gi-rona City Council & Manresa City Council (Es) Pau Chamber of Commerce (FR), and Busi-ness and Innovation Center Lippe-Detmold (DE).

The city district round (Kyläkierros) of Jyväskylä means a serie of events in the residential areas around the city. Residents, representatives and employees of the city are all welcome to take part in the discussion about topics of interest in their neighbourhood.

Jyväskylä City Council's decisions

On 18 January, Jyväskylä City Council handled the following issues: a street plan extension proposal and a street plan alteration proposal, and a plot subdivision approval (Mankola II) , organising mezzanine capital for EU-funded projects as well as the project plan for the Huhtasuo school and daycare campus.

Open urban yard planned in the Jyväskylä city centre

The last remaining wooden house plot from the 1800s in Jyväskylä city centre is located at Cygnaeuksenkatu 2. A project plan to develop an urban yard in the 1800s style of the block is drafted.

FunAction – sporting event for children and their families

FunAction, organised in Hipposhalli on Sunday Jan 24, was a success. Around 2 000 participants tried different kind of sports, played and had fun together. FunAction was organized for the second time in Jyväskylä. Next FunAction events are on Feb 14 and Mar 28.

The Trilogy of Light is the latest attraction in Jyväskylä, the City of Light

Trilogy of Light installation will provide light, sound and images to enliven the evenings of Jyväskylä's city centre throughout three seasons a year. The Trilogy of Light, designed by the lighting designer Jukka Korpihete uses the façade of the Upper secondary school of Jyväskylän Lyseo as its main stage, projecting video image and laser effects along with the façade lighting.

Swedish trombonevirtuoso Christian Lindberg will also appear as conductor and as composer. An important event will be in February when we will hear Ludwig van Beethoven's majestic Symphony No. 9

Among the largest Finnish cities, Jyväskylä has the best image. Jyväskylä was number one in the national Kuntien Imago (VIP) 2009 municipality image survey.
