National Independence Day Parade in Jyväskylä on Sunday, 6 December 2015

A total of 650 people and 50 vehicles from all branches of the armed forces will take part in the National Independence Day Parade on 6 December 2015 in Jyväskylä.

Programme of the parade day on Sunday, 6 December 2015

at 9 Wreath-laying ceremony at the war grave at the Old Cemetery, Puistokatu
at 10-11 Festival service at the Taulumäki Church
at 10-14 Military vehicle demonstration at the town square. A Sotilaskoti canteen in the area
at 12-12.30 Parade at the Harju stadium
at 12.30-12.43 Midnight Hawks flight demonstration above Jyväsjärvi (weather permitting)
at 13-13.45 March-past on Yliopistonkatu, reception in front of the Harju steps. During the march-past, a flypast will be performed by aircraft from the Finnish Air Force and Army (weather permitting).
at 17-18 Independence Day celebration at Jyväskylä Paviljonki, Lutakonaukio 12. Free admission, coffee will be served at 16, high orders of merit
at 18 Independence Day torchlight parade, starting from the front of the main building of the University of Jyväskylä
at 18-20 Harju steps are illuminated, organised by Guides and Scouts of Jyväskylä and Kuokkalan Vetehiset
at 18-20 Residents’ own festival lights

Please note that during the National Independence Day Parade, there will be temporary traffic and parking arrangements, and certain streets will be closed in Jyväskylä on 5–6 December 2015.
