Guided tours in the Jyväskylä City Hall

A guided tour in the renovated and restored City Hall of Jyväskylä offers a possibility to meet the history and present of the city hall. During the tour you will get to know how the city hall’s old premises have turned to be meeting rooms for city council, city board and council groups today.

During Jyväskylä Days following open guided Jyväskylä City Hall tours are organized (tours in Finnish):

  • Friday 20 March at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00
  • Saturday 21 March at 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, and 14.00

Jyväskylä City Hall, address: Vapaudenkatu 32. Entrance using the “Poliisikamari” door.

  • Free entry (max number of 15 persons / tour).
  • Tickets: Please get the free entry ticket for the guided tour in advance from the Jyväskylä Info, address: Kauppakeskus Forum, Asemakatu 7.
  • A tour takes around 45minutes.
  • Language of tour is Finnish.
  • The guided city hall tours are part of the City of Jyväskylä’s 178th anniversary festivities.

A renovated and restored City Hall of Jyväskylä was re-opened in late February 2013. The latest renovation (2010-2012) considerably improved the working conditions of the City Council, council groups and the City Board. The building's space division changed substantially and was almost restored to the original.
